Sharing Center Overview

Survey data only creates value once it reaches the right person — but a 40 GB folder does not fit in an e-mail, and making the recipient install software is no better. In CartaX a share is a link: the recipient opens it in a browser and proves who they are, and you see who looked and when. Three share types

Map shares also open on a phone; analysis and point cloud shares open on desktop only. If the project holds fewer than two analysis assets, the Analysis mode option stays disabled and says "At least 2 analysis assets are required".

Creating a link

Open the project and choose Share; the Share Project window opens on its New share tab. The order is simple:

1. Share Name — optional ("Contractor team — November review"). It appears in lists and on notes; guests see it too.
2. Recipient Emails — one or more addresses.
3. Access PIN — 6 digits. Send the link and the PIN through separate channels.
4. Duration — 1, 3, 7, 14 or 30 days, or a number of days you type in. When it runs out, access closes on its own.
5. Content to Share — tick files one by one or use Select All. Measurement records tied to the layers you chose join the package automatically; no extra tick is needed. External layers (WMTS/TMS) open read-only for the recipient.

Create Share Link brings up the Link Ready! screen: copy the link or send it via WhatsApp. For cases where identity checks are unnecessary there is a Public read-only option: no PIN, no e-mail — do not use it for sensitive data.

The Shares window

The same window's Active shares tab (and the Shares section on the home screen) lists your live links. Each card shows the type (Map / Analysis / Point cloud), whether it is Public or Private, the number of selected layers, the recipient and the creation date. The buttons on the card:

• Copy — copies the link again.
• Manage layers — on the Layers tab you remove layers from the share and add ones uploaded after it was created (marked New); a layer whose type does not fit shows as Incompatible. Removing every layer closes the share, and the app asks for confirmation first. The History tab is the record of layer and people changes.
• People — the recipient list and the access record: each person's status (Active / Removed / Bounced), invitation date, last access time or "Never accessed", and how many notes they left. From here you add people, send invitation e-mails or remove someone; removing the last recipient revokes the share.
• Settings — link settings such as extending the duration.
• Revoke — closes the link immediately.
• Guest notes — the notes recipients left; reply, mark resolved, open on the map. When unread notes exist, the View active shares button shows the count.

Adding things later

A newly uploaded layer does not need a brand-new link to reach your open shares. Add to share on the layer row opens the Add to active shares dialog; tick one or more shares and press Add. Shares that already contain the layer, or whose type does not match, are shown with the reason. The reverse works too: with Manage layers you add several layers to a single share in one go.

Analysis shares have live scope: assets, measurements and layers (DXF/KML/360°) added to the project folder later flow into the active share on their own. Switch the card's Analysis mode toggle off and the content is frozen to the current list.

On the guest's side

The recipient opens the link, sets a display name once, and enters an e-mail address and the PIN. The session is not persistent — refreshing the tab asks for the PIN again. Access is read-only; guests can measure, but measurements are session-only and vanish when the tab closes. Notes are persistent and visible to you — feedback arrives on the data, not as a screenshot.
